New 3DS is Coming

So... This JUST happened.
We knew that the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer Bundle with the New 3DS console was coming out but we didn't know until today that it was coming to North America. Yes, the more customizable and compact version of the N3DS is coming to the Americas on the 25th of September with the game Happy Home Designer and matching faceplates. This console has been desired in North America since it's announcement but Nintendo claimed that the XL was best for our region so it's been assumed that the regular sized N3DS would never come, but here we are.

Being ANTI Nintendo

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,
I was searching for a Nintendo fan site a bit ago and what I found was ridiculous, someone has actually made a site completely devoted to being against Nintendo. Get a Life (No offense), to make a site that's devoted to being against a company that people like just because you prefer another is stupid. I don't THINK it's stupid, it is stupid. Us Nintendo fans don't go and make an anti Xbox site or Death to PS4 site, I mean, this site was literally made to simply put down everything related to Nintendo just because they (the site's owners) didn't like Nintendo themselves (obviously). I don't know about you but I would never make an entire website devoted to being against another Video Game/game console company just because Nintendo is the greatest video game/console company ever and outshines all the competition... That would be rude and stupid.

Modern color 8bit Mario amiibo bundle problems

The Super Mario Maker Wii U bundle is available on Walmart's site for pre-order and will ship out orders on September 11th when the game is released. This particular bundle is the one which has both the game and the Modern colored 8bit SMB 30th anniversary amiibo with the Wii U console, quite the deal unless...

Sonic Boom Comic series

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,
I've learned some new information concerning Sonic Boom, the comic series from Archie Comics will be ending after the eleventh issue. My Sonic informant (none other than Miles Tails Prower himself) has informed me (hence the name "INFORMANT") that this is the shortest running Sonic comic series ever made, however the comic series will end with the "Worlds Unite" saga so don't worry about not being able to read the ending of the series.
The post above is from Archie Comics on Twitter. Although I believe Sonic Boom could've been made better than it was, it was made more for children and isn't the worst Sonic by far. The new Sonic Boom game is coming to the 3DS in December 31st 2015 according to GameStop.

In the Movies

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,

Anyone else remember the horrible mistake that was the Super Mario Bros movie? Well I do, They did everything wrong, Bob-ombs and Princess Daisy and Yoshi, EVERYTHING. Nintendo since it's release in 1993 has become rather against making more video game themed films using their characters. They did however allow some of their characters (including Mario, DK and Duckhunt) in the movie PIXELS which came out to theaters this year. And a little while back they allowed a couple of their properties to be used in Wreck it Ralph So maybe this new involvement has made them rethink their standing in the film business and try and get back into the industry. According to Fortune, Nintendo's coming back to film will be overseen by the man who mad Mario, Mr. Miyamoto. This all makes me wonder about the previous rumors about Mario getting a new film, if overseen by Miyamoto it should be awesomtacular.

MEGA Yarn Yoshi

It's Bigger, it's badder and it's predecessor hasn't even been released yet.

"Mega Yarn Yoshi is, hands down, the best amiibo to cuddle with. The larger-than-life figure launches in stores on Nov. 15 and is compatible with multiple games."~Nintendo on FB
It's MEGA Yarn Yoshi and it'll be out Nov. 15th, the month after the release of the game so don't worry about not having the game before the amiibo. This is now the biggest amiibo in production, surpassing the size of the SMB 30th anniversary amiibo. And, as if the little one's weren't already cool enough, this is like a full size plush character that works as an amiibo, just like the lil' ones this one's made of yarn. I'm not entirely sure but it looks like the amiibo may make Yoshi gigantic in the game, judging by the picture shown above, this of course is not proven so... We'll know later on I suppose.

No discs!!

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,

O-K Internet, don't freak out. Recently it has been made known that Nintendo has filed for a patent on hardware that doesn't run disc based games. So everyone's assuming that the new NX console (announced at the beginning  of 2015 by the late Nintendo President Mr. Iwata) will work without discs at all. Although this doesn't sound quite right, it could very well be possible that the NX console will be a modern cartridge based system. The very Idea isn't unheard of, the 3DS runs cartridges and there's the RETRO VGS console which is currently being funded that only plays cartridges and not OLD but NEW cartridges. So if the NX does only play cartridges, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. But the patent filed was not specific and made no mention of the NX as far as I can tell. One concern everyone seems to be having is that all games made available for this console will be 100% digital and not disc based or cartridge based at all. This would be really annoying and obviously not backwards compatible either, so I doubt that is what Nintendo will make for their next console.

amiibo update 8/20/15

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,
We all know by now that the Dr. Mario amiibo will be exclusive to Target after release on 9/11/2015.
This was originally a rumor until confirmed by Nintendo themselves on their amiibo website. Underneath the amiibo's description you can read "Exclusively at Target at launch". However, we have a new rumor in circulation around the internet now about the rarer amiibo figures may be in reproduction, including the Gold Super Mario amiibo figure. Nintendo's CPSIA is for their product safety but apparently also lists what products are getting restocked and I guess that some of the rarer amiibo are on that list. This should make the ones who couldn't snag up rare amiibo figures when they were released a bit happier.

YouTube Hacking

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,

Hacking at a 3DS with a Tube

It appears that someone has found yet another way to hack the 3DS console, this time it's a NEW 3DSXL. They've used YouTube to hack the console and use Homebrew somehow and have used the software to play region locked games and downloaded applications.

Although some may think this is cool, its just not right to go hacking into Nintendo's system like that. I've shared enough of the information needed to look up such things needed to make this hack happen. So I will not share anything more on this hack or even the source of my information.

Transforming Inklings

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,

Inklings... Roll out!!

From 9 PM PT on 8/28 through 9 PM PT on 8/29 you can fight on either team AUTOBOTS or DECEPTICONS in Splatoon's Splatfest. And no, your Inkling will not transform... At least I don't think it will.

Inklings… Roll out! The next Splatfest is just around the corner, and this time we’re pitting Team AUTOBOTS versus Team...

Looks like all Inkling participants get their own Autobots or Decepticons emblem T-shirt, Although I'm not sure if you get to keep this and/or wear it outside of Splatfest or not.

Nintendo wins again

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,

"On Aug. 4, 2015, Nintendo won a patent case in a federal court in Washington state, which marks two such wins in separate cases just a few weeks apart. On July 9, 2015, Judge Ricardo Martinez issued a ruling in the latest case that sided with Nintendo on 10 out of 10 disputed issues regarding the scope of the patent. The rulings led the patent holder, Secure Axcess, LLC, to agree that Nintendo’s well-known hand-held systems, including Nintendo 3DS XL,Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DS, do not infringe. Secure Axcess is a patent-assertion company that originally filed suit against Nintendo and 11 retailers of Nintendo products in a Texas court in January 2013. Since then the case was transferred to the Washington court, where it has now been dismissed."~Nintendo Press Room

Here we are yet again, another case was made against the DS family of consoles by a company who is obviously way out of their league. Nintendo isn't doomed and their not out of the game, they have the money and the resources to survive. So why do companies like  Secure Axcess, LLC think they can take them on exactly?!  Other than that simple question, it's another WIN for Nintendo.

Mario Month 2015

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,
It's Mario Month, Back when NSMB2 for the 3DS was released Nintendo made August into a month long celebration of the Plumber and gave the world an eShop sale for many retro Mario games. They dubbed it Mario Month and after that year, the month was barely ever recognized as Mario Month again. But I haven't forgotten it, I've been sharing it on Facebook and other places too. With AR-Cade TNG, Mario Month will live on.

Miiverse redesign specs

Hey Gamers and Collectors everywhere,

It's been a little while since the Miiverse redesign was done, I just yesterday (8/4/15) went on to experience the changes made for myself. Although it is no longer a place to simply chat, it has become something much better than a chat room (IMO). I believe I can use what I've learned of the redesigning to help out those who now are upset with the way Miiverse has become. It seems (1st of all) we have the new "Play Journal", the Play Journal is rather specific, you can only make posts to it when a game is being played and paused to make an entry in that journal, however the new "Screenshot Album" is handy for when you'd rather save an image and make a post later. You can't add anything to either your "Play Journal" or your "Screenshot Album" unless you are connected to the internet, but you can still save up to three posts on the 3DS to upload later when you have no internet access. You can save up to 100 screenshots in the new "Screenshot Album", I suspect that some of the screenshots will become rather useless over time so eventually you can just delete some to make more space. The limits for posting (only around 30 posts a day) was another problem, this seems to be less of a problem to me now that they've practically eliminated the ability to post things which do not relate to the game you are playing currently. What I mean is, you cannot make a post with JUST text anymore, it'll always be connected to the game paused before going onto Miiverse, so whether or not it has a screenshot attached, it'll still be regarding the game. What's cool about this, is I believe that every post made in the Play Journal is linked to the Game's relating community, it'll show up both in your personal journal and in that game's community. I know, Miiverse had become a Gamers social network and You can still have discussions and make drawing posts regarding games, but now all things posted to Miiverse must relate to games. It is now what Nintendo originally intended it to be, not a social network, but a place to share gaming content relating to their games and more.
