This is an opinion piece on Splatoon's USA advertisements VS Japan's.
NA vs JP "Trailers"
splatoon has been claimed as Nintendo's next big hit and Nintendo's next Block buster, the trailers however are more annoying than entertaining. The NA (North America/ USA) trailers are more focused on the FUN aspect, featuring the kid/teen characters and singing about nearly every aspect of the game while the Japanese ads focus more on gameplay, weapons and style. The greatest of the Japanese ads literally takes a piece of Tokyo Japan and makes it into a Turf War from the game.
As you can tell from the above trailer, the gameplay is well shown but the trailer has a song from start to finish which focuses on the ability to transform from a squid to a kid. the song is repetitive and becomes rather annoying, but again the gameplay is well shown and the trailer still makes the game look appealing.
The Japan Trailer is the one I mentioned before about Nintendo of Japan literally taking Tokyo and making it a turf war from the Splatoon game. This trailer utilizes CGI and gameplay straight out of the new game, I'm not saying that Nintendo Of America didn't make their trailers well, but I do believe its evidently clear that the Japan Trailers are better in many ways than the America's.
Which makes me wonder "Why is it that the NA trailers are simply music and gameplay while the JP trailers are exciting and make the game look more intriguing?" With the Splatoon game coming out this Weekend, which of the two trailers I've shared here make you look forward to buying the game more?
Game on and Keep it Rehl!
